an ode to love

two years without another's slight touch
feels like being accepted into a nunnery,
except without the vows and permanence.

kissing is a language on its own,
spoken between the two carrying
each other's heavy hearts inwards.

hugging allows the other to be welcome
into the personal space,
into the soul's home.

ah! but to make love and make it last
is the challenge so many face,
never knowing if it will or not.
